Sleep No More
Centaur transformed a massive space in Chelsea into a one-of-a-kind home for the cutting-edge immersive theater show Sleep No More. This 100,000-square-foot building in the historically isolated West side of Chelsea had a track record of hosting popular nightclubs on a block that was, at the time, dominated by nightlife venues.
Sensing major changes coming to the area, which is steps from the then-unopened High Line park, Centaur struck an unconventional deal to turn the property into the home of the immersive theater production “Sleep No More,” created by the British theater company Punchdrunk. Centaur partnered on the production and guided the necessary building renovations.
Actors and audience members roam freely throughout the baroque and immersive environments during this interactive show. Sleep No More was an instant sensation and continues playing to sold-out crowds daily. The property also now plays host to The Heath and Gallow Green, a bar and a restaurant that are as sumptuously and artfully considered as the theater production.
As the area continues to evolve, the property with its 150’ of frontage on West 27th Street will continue to flourish.
